Walpurgisnacht Ballet
Music: Charles Gounod
Choreography: George Balanchine
Walpurgisnacht Ballet is a neoclassical choreography, ending with a surging climax that sends its 24 ballerinas soaring across the stage.

Music: Maurice Ravel
Choreography: George Balanchine
The polished simplicity and emotional interplay of the rarely-seen Sonatine evokes the elegance of the French artists on which it was made.
Sonatine was presented as the opening ballet of the New York City Ballet Ravel Festival during the 1975 Spring Season. Balanchine created this ballet –a pas de deux with an onstage pianist – on Violette Verdy and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, two principal dancers with New York City Ballet who were both born in France.

La Valse
Music: Maurice Ravel
Choreography: George Balanchine
Within a cavernous ballroom, La Valse presents a young woman at once horrified and fascinated by her own vanity, seduced by the figure of Death. A mood of superficial gaiety mixed with an uncertainfeeling of impending catastrophe.

Symphony in C
Music: Georges Bizet
Choreography: George Balanchine
Culminating with a grand classical showpiece, Symphony in C sparkles with over 50 dancers covered in Swarovski elements, a spectacular finale to a brilliant program.
Balanchine required only two weeks to choreograph Le Palais de Cristal for the Paris Opera Ballet in1947, where he was serviving as a guest ballet master. When he revived the work the following year, he simplified the sets and costumes and changed the title.
